Samuel Askey

(c. 1782 - 1840)
Originally a tinman, he became a pupil of John Morrison, and worked for some time for George Corsby. The work varies in character ; some of his Amati copies showing very intelligent work, but the tone is rather weak and harsh. No label of his is known.
