ARKHUSEN, Ivan F. Born 1795 Copenhagen Denmark, died 1870 St Petersburg Russia. Founded a factory for stringed instruments in Moscow (Henley gives St. Petersburg) 1818. Moved later to St Petersburg, where he died. Prolific production of violins and cellos, but much effort directed towards balalaikas and other plucked instruments.
