From early on he was aware of the importance of a good instrument, not only in the quality of sound but also aesthetics of the form. He went on to complete high school violin making studies in Poznan, Poland. Jacek completed his Masters degree in violin making at Poznan Academy of Music, Poland, while just before he moved to England to specialise in early stringed instrument making at West Dean College under Roger Rose. He completed the three year programme with distinction. Jacek moved to London in 2003 where he was employed by the renowned dealers and restorers of fine stringed instruments, J&A Beare, where he worked as a restorer. Fall of 2008 Jacek opened his own stringed instrument making and restoration studio in his hometown of Gdańsk. Apart from his work in making and restoring fine instruments, he also enjoys sharing some of his experience through giving lectures and continues his passion for research on specialist subjects related to stringed instruments. He is also an avid violin and viola da gamba player.
