Fabio Piagentini violin maker was born in Lucca in 1978 and has been developing a strong interest in classical music since he was very young. He studied piano in his childhood and later on he attended the Consevatory “Luigi Boccherini” in Lucca studying cello. After achieving his diploma at the Art Institute “A. Passaglia” in 1998, he had a short working experience in the field of art restoration. Then he moved to Cremona in order to attend the International Luhtier’s Art School (IPIALL) where he got his diploma in 2005, under the guidance of Wanna Zambelli. In the same period he attended bow, assembly, instrument setting-up and acoustic physics classes. From 2005 to 2007, back in Lucca, he had an important working experience with Michel Eggiman, dealing with the manufacture of instrument copies and focusing on the works of Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù and the Amati family . Since 2005 he has been taking part to exhibitions and international expositions as for example the “Frankfurt Musikmesse” and the “Cremona Mondomusica”. In February 2007 he opened his own workshopin the old town of Lucca, Via del Gonfalone, 10. During the year 2008 to build a quartet devoted to his city, launching a multimedia project called Quartet Mansi www.quartettomansi.it He is currently collaborating with professional musicians. both Italian and international.
