VANDYK, Anton Worked circa. 1872 Jicin Czech Republic. Family said to have come from the Netherlands on court duty. Highly ornate violin dated 1872 in the National Music Museum of Prague, back and ribs covered with marquetry, edges in alternating ivory and ebony bands, stylised soundholes with fretwork patterns rather than finial circles.
