TAYLOR, James Born 1796, died 1870 Glasgow, Scotland UK. Worked as an ivory turner and instrument maker. Established at 114 John Street, Glasgow from 1816. From 1839 at no. 84 and 1860-1870 at no. 89 in the same street. One of the earliest Glasgow makers. Neat work on narrow model; head possibly an imported Mittenwald piece. Orange spirit varnish.
