SLEATH, Howard Fortnam Born 1899 Brisbane, died 1974 Maroochydore, Queensland Australia. Son and pupil of Alfred Henry Sleath, above. Violinist and maker. Copies of Guarneri, using information generously supplied to him by Alfred Hill in London. Small output of violins and a few violas. Moved to Sandford Street, St. Lucia, Queensland 1949, and finally to Maroochydore, Queensland 1973. Highly-regarded expert repairer and restorer.
