SCHMOLL, Rudolf F. Born 1904 Hanover Germany, d. after 1942 Portland, Oregon USA. Apprenticed to Theodor Berger in Markneukirchen 1921-1926. Emigrated to the USA 1926. Worked in Utica, New York, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco before settling in Portland, Oregon 1942. Received his Master’s certificate from Markneukirchen 1932. Chiefly occupied with repair work. About eight violins made on Stradivari and Guarneri models. Oil and spirit varnishes in orange-yellow and red-brown shades. Fine workmanship.
