REMÉNYI, László Born 1895, died 1964 Budapest Hungary. Son and pupil of Mihály Reményi, below. Qualified as a luthier 1912. Worked for G. Winterling in Hamburg 1913, and Caressa & Français in Paris 1914. Military service 1914-1918. Then joined his father in Budapest 1919. High reputation as a connoisseur and maker. Exhibited at The Hague 1949. Many significant Hungarian luthiers employed in his shop assisting in restoration and the making of violins on classical Cremonese models. Golden-orange oil varnish.
