Awarded diploma of honour at The Hague 1949. Chairman of the NGV (Netherlands Violin Makers Association) 1975-1987. Retired 1980. Master restorer and connoisseur. Stradivari and Guarneri models. Good transparent red or brown varnish. Instruments made by an employee are stamped internally. Later work fully labelled. [NGV]
