OLSEN, Lars Jorgen Rudolph Born 1889 Copenhagen Denmark, died 1978 New York USA. Apprenticed to Hjorth & Sons, Copenhagen 1904-1909. Worked for Otto Möckel in Dresden 1909-1913 and briefly in Berlin and Amsterdam for Edward Vandermeer and Max Möller, with whom he studied bow making. Emigrated to the USA 1913. Worked in New York for John Markert. Established independently on Third Avenue, New York 1914. Copies of Stradivari, Guarneri, and Lupot. Oil and spirit varnishes.
