Established professionally from 1884 in Dryden. Made about 200 instruments modelled on Stradivari ‘Alard’ and ‘Messie’ violins; also Guarneri models. Variable workmanship. Orange to deep red-brown varnish with local and recovered woods. Inscribed internally: ‘Jansen Miller. M.E.H.T. 1927’. Printed label: Violin No 150 / S. Jansen Miller / Dryden, N.Y.
