By John Dilworth

Henri (II) Born 1629. Son of Henri Médard (I), above. Instruments attributed to either Henri (I) or (II) are strongly reminiscent of the work of early Turin makers. It is quite possible that one or more members of the Médard family was present there. Both the Médard family and early Turin makers used the technique of fitting the ribs to a small channel cut into the underside of the edges of the back. One viola labelled: Henri Médard / à Turin, 1646
