Ignaz Anton Born 1882 Vienna Austria, died 1927 San Francisco, California USA. Son and pupil of Ignaz Lutz (I), above. Subsequently worked for various workshops in Vienna, Berlin, Paris, and London before emigrating to the USA. Earned a high reputation as a repairer and restorer. Owned the 1724 Stradivari ‘Erlich’ violin, on which he modelled his own work. Red-brown varnish of his own formulation, sometimes with shaded ‘antique’ finish. Ignaz Lutz / San Francisco, Cal. 19..
