CAPICCHIONI, Marino Born 1895 San Marino, died 1977 Rimini Italy. Took up violin making in France before settling in Rimini from 1926. Won gold medals in Padua, Forli, Cremona, and Rome from 1932. The Republic of San Marino erected a monument in his honour in 1963. Stradivari and Guarneri models with very precise workmanship. Good clear golden-orange varnish.
