HUNTER, G. Frank. Born 1878 Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, Worked circa. 1900-1927 Elkhart, Indiana USA. Employed by Frederick P. Williams 1900-1910, and assisted Frank Barstow at the Conn Musical Instrument Factory in Elkhart, Indiana 1915-1926. Made foreman 1927. Produced first violin 1915. Most of his work bears the labels of his employers. Stradivari and Guarneri models, very highly finished work. Varnish of golden orange colour, but some darker shades. Imported wood. G.
