HAMBERGER, Joseph (II) Born 1849 Bratislava (Pressburg) Slovakia, died 1904 Vienna Austria. Son of Joseph Hamberger (I), above. Pupil of Anton Hofmann in Vienna from 1865 and succeeded to his business on his death in 1871. Luthier to the Court and the Vienna Opera. The shop was in turn passed to Alfred Coletti after Joseph’s death in 1904 through his widow. Guitars and violins, but neither particularly distinguished.
