EISENSTEIN, Samuel Born 1900 Istanbul Turkey, died 1984 New York USA. Son and assistant of Abraham Eisenstein, above. Worked in Istanbul until 1923 before emigrating to join his father in New York, later taking over the business. Noted repairer and restorer. Particularly fine bridge maker. Taught violin making and restoration at Hofstra University, New York. Completed about a dozen violins with antiqued finish. [Wenberg]
