EDLER, J. Henry Born 1874 Frankfurt Germany, died 1938 Boston USA. Son and pupil of Friedrich Edler (II), above. Worked for Siebenhuner in Zurich 1891-1893 before emigrating to New York 1898 to work for John Friedrich. Established in Boston 1900, managing the violin shop of Elias Howe until 1919. Subsequently worked as ‘J. H. Edler & Son’. Primarily occupied with repair work but produced 12 violins and two cellos on Stradivari and Guarneri models. [Wenberg]
