DROZEN, Frantisek Xavier Born 1898 Tatobit (Tatobity), died 1972 Turnov Czech Republic. Pupil of J. B. Vavra and B. Lantner in Prague. Established in Turnov from 1925. Very fine work on Stradivari, Guarneri, and Stainer models. Orange-brown or red varnish on good gold-coloured ground. One of his instruments used by Jan Kubelik. Branded internally: ‘F. X. Drozen Turnov’. Also signed comprehensively on the interior. Printed label: F. X. Drozen / Vytvorill. P. 19.. / V Turnove
