DE LUCCIA, Michele (II) Born 1912 Casigliano, Sessa Cilenta Italy, d. c.1980 Paterson, New Jersey USA. Pupil of his cousin Gennaro de Luccia, above, and his uncle Michele (I), above. Early work in Italy; primarily plucked instruments. Established in Casigliano and then Salerno 1943-1944. Emigrated to New York 1958 to work for Rembert Wurlitzer and later for Jacques Français 1970-1977. Continued making new instruments until at least 1980. Several different models with oil varnish of his own preparation. Very prolific maker of plucked instruments in Italy; also 80 violins and 15 double basses.
